Question 4 of 30
4. Question
2 pointsWhat is the value of ?
Correct
Incorrect
Rewrite the whole equation as an improper fraction and then follow the rule of BODMAS to obtain the correct answer here.. ie.
17/5 – 9/4 x 4/3 + 1/6 of 12/7 then work the section ‘of’ ie (1/6 of 12/7) = 2/7
Thus we have 17/5 – 9/4 x 4/3 + 2/7
and (9/4 x 4/3) = 3
3 + 2/7 = 21/7 + 2/7 = 23/7
so we have 17/5 – 23/7
Working this out under a common LCM we get 119/35 115/35 = 4/35
